Bonnie Li 's new single 'Stalker' explores a rather different side of love.


Born in a Marseille family, Bonnie Li grew up in Hong Kong, began her adult life in Paris and is now based in Berlin. She writes, composes and sings her melancholic and touching ‘Trip Pop’ in three languages (English, French & Mandarin) and has been praised by the likes of RollingStone, Clash Magazine & Earmilk for her eclectic taste and cinematic music.

Greatly effected and inspired by her different travels, Bonnie Li reflects on the place given to women in our modern societies and wanders on recurrent themes like 'women as heroines', 'addiction' and 'power dynamics'.

With her latest singles 'All about You' (FIP Nouveautés, RollingStone), 'So Hard' feat. Coeur (Equal - Spotify France Editorial Playlist) and ‘Chinese Talk’ (Midnight Chill - Spotify Japan Editorial Playlist, FIP Nouveautés) just out, Bonnie Li will now release her 4th single 'Stalker’ from her upcoming 2nd album ‘Le Bleu du Rouge’. Revolving - like the album - around the different aspects of love, ‘Stalker’ is an invitation to let go. The song is built around Bonnie's sensual voice, accompanied by a solemn piano and a down tempo beat. It's a voluntarily stripped down piece, laid bare and intimate.
'In Stalker, I let go of my guard, I give the reins and I close my eyes. In this game of seduction, I question who the stalker really is and I invite you to let go too', the artist tells us.

While her last releases - debut album 'Wǒ Men' (2019) & EP 'Plane-Crash' (2017) -received great media coverage (RollingStone, The Line of Best Fits, Rough Trade, Sync on Arte TV Serie 'Moloch' starring Marine Vatch & Olivier Gourmet, +230k views on ‘I want you to die’ single…) performing live is definitely another of her strongest suits.

Charismatic and touching in her one-woman-show, the singer balances between tension and release while adding to the experience with live vocal samples, mixing her mezzo soprano harmonies with airy synths, all on deep and catchy beats. She has been seen on festivals such as Marsatac, Les Francofolies, numerous LGBTQI+ scenes in Europe and Turkey and was coming back from a month-long tour in Italy and 2 tours in the USA before the pandemic hit.

With this impressive history in her wake, Bonnie Li will now release her 4th single in the building up to her 2nd full length album 'Le Bleu du Rouge', which the artist describes herself as "a stroll on the amorous shores thought of as a voyage, focusing on the color purple".
